  • What is CBG?
CBG (cannabigerol) is a type of cannabinoid that was first discovered in 1964. CBG is becoming known as the "mother of all cannabinoids." This is because all young cannabis plants begin with CBGA (cannabigerolic acid), an acidic form of CBG. As the plant matures, a group of enzymes break down most of the CBGA, converting it into THCA, CBDA, or CBCA. There is usually only around 1% CBG in a fully mature cannabis plant, unlike the 20-30% of CBD or THC. This has made it harder to source and preform studies over the years. This is also the reason in why CBG is more expensive than CBD or THC. Growers are now using cross breeding and genetic manipulation to try to create strains that contain higher amounts of CBG, to make it more accessible and affordable. Even though the mature plants contain very little CBG, it doesn't mean that CBG is any less important or beneficial than CBD, or THC. Each individual endocannabinoid is beneficial in its own way. The endocannabinoid system is composed of a system of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body. The main ones are CB1 and CB2 receptors. •CB1 receptors are usually found in the nervous system and brain. •CB2 receptors are mainly found in the immune system. CBG, in particular, binds to BOTH receptors and amplifies the effects of whats known as the entorage effect.
  • Will CBD get me "High"?
CBD does not have any of the psychoactive properties associated with marijuana and will not get the user “high.”
